Dulini Moya Lodge,
Sabi Sands Game Reserve

The adventure began as soon as we turned onto the private access road leading to Dulini Moya Lodge. Nestled in the heart of South Africa’s Sabi Sands Game Reserve, adjacent to the renowned Kruger National Park, this intimate lodge promised an unforgettable escape into the wilderness. Upon arrival, the friendly staff greeted us with the warmest of welcomes, complete with refreshing drinks and a brief orientation of the lodge’s facilities and our itinerary.

The Lodge: Luxury Amidst Nature

Dulini Moya Lodge is a blend of luxury and nature, designed to offer comfort while preserving the rustic charm of the African bush. The lodge consists of a few private suites, each secluded enough to give the feeling of having your own personal retreat. My suite was a beautifully appointed space with a plush king-sized bed, a spacious bathroom, and floor-to-ceiling windows that offered panoramic views of the surrounding wilderness.

Perhaps the most remarkable feature was the private plunge pool on the deck, overlooking a river bed where animals like elephants and antelopes came strolling past. It was a perfect spot to unwind after the journey and soak in the tranquil vibes of the bush, listening to the birds and sipping a G&T from the complimentary mini bar

The Game Drives: Thrilling Encounters

The highlight of any stay at Dulini Moya Lodge is undoubtedly the game drives. We embarked on our first drive in the late afternoon, just as the African sun began to cast golden hues across the savannah. Our tracker was an expert in tracking while our guide shared fascinating insights about the complex ecosystems of Sabi Sands.

We were fortunate to witness a broad array of wildlife, including the elusive leopard, a pride of lions, plenty of elephant and a rare white rhino. Our skilled ranger navigated the vehicle through rugged paths, ensuring we were always in the heart of the action while maintaining a respectful distance from the animals.

Sleeping in the heart of the African bush was surreal. The night was alive with the sounds of nocturnal creatures, and lying in bed listening to the distant calls of wild animals was a reminder of the untamed beauty of this place.

The next morning, we set out on another game drive at dawn, greeted by the sight of the bush waking up. The early morning light provided a beautiful backdrop for photography, and the cooler temperatures meant that many animals were active and visible.

After returning to the lodge for a hearty breakfast, it was time to say goodbye to the incredible staff and the unforgettable experiences Dulini Moya Lodge had provided.

My stay at Dulini Moya Lodge was more than just a visit; it was a deep dive into the heart of Africa’s wild beauty. The combination of luxury accommodations, thrilling wildlife encounters, and heartfelt hospitality made this a truly unique and memorable adventure. If you’re seeking an intimate safari experience that promises both adventure and relaxation, Dulini Moya Lodge in Sabi Sands should undoubtedly be on your travel list.
